As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Payton’s Promise operates solely on private donations from individuals, corporations, our community, and fundraising (events, planned giving, or grants). We are grateful to have a community of supporters with compassionate hearts who are willing to help raise awareness for animal welfare, and show support for our organization.
Who We Are
Our Mission
Some dogs require a special kind of love and care. At Payton’s Promise, that’s what we provide. As a sanctuary for dogs who are homeless, have special needs, are nearing end-of-life, or otherwise difficult to adopt; we, at Payton’s Promise Sanctuary, offer them a “soft place to land.”

Vision
Our dogs often come to us from shelters or an otherwise stressful situation. Whether they are terminally ill, nearing the end of natural life, or have special needs; they experience the peace, love, and respect they deserve at our sanctuary. Our nonterminal dogs are often available for adoption. Whether our dogs are adopted out or their forever home remains with us, they will live out their lives with dignity and comfort surrounded by the love of our sanctuary family.

Why
I’m referred to by some as a Rainbow Bridge Doula because end of life care has always been deeply special and sacred to me. Transitioning out of the physical realm into the spiritual realm is a natural passage for our beloved pets. For us, on the other hand, it tends to be a time of great emotional sorrow and confusion. One of my many passions is to make this ‘rite of passage’ as beautiful and meaningful as possible.

How
When crossing over the rainbow bridge is on the horizon, my intention is to facilitate “Best Last Days”. Every case is unique; some are relaxing massage and essential oil days, while others are fabulous parties with swimming pools and pupcakes, they are always filled with love! Whether I’ve known an animal for 1 hour or 10 years, It’s always a privilege and an honor to witness this sacred transition into their beautiful Light Bodies. I believe every soul has purpose and meaning.
